Let's celebrate Get Organized (GO) Month by donating items A-Z!
To celebrate Get Organized (GO) Month I'm doing a series of posts on items ranging from A-Z. For each letter, I'll provide a list of potential resources for what to do with your belongings if you're ready to donate or sell them.
We're near the end at letter X.
X is for Xmas Decorations
Okay, I'm going to be a little selfish with this one...
My son's elementary school in Glastonbury, CT did an event this past December called "Winter Wonderlane." As they knew Covid was putting a damper on holiday gatherings for families, they decided to spread a bit of cheer in their own way.
The PTO decorated the horseshoe-shaped driveway in front of the school as a holiday extravaganza for families to drive through and enjoy - complete with a radio station we could tune to! They even did a game for the kids where they hid the school mascot among the decorations and if you found it you snapped a picture to be entered into a raffle for prizes. How cool was that?!
The January PTO email blast asked that while folks are putting away their holiday decorations if there's something unloved or unwanted, please consider donating it for Winter Wonderlane 2021.
Here's the blurb from the e-newsletter for details:
Looking to Declutter or Donate Any Outdoor Winter Decorations?!? We're already planning for next year's BBL Winter WonderLane and would appreciate outdoor winter decorations and light donations to help make next year's event even more festive and bright. We are also in search of outdoor extension cords. Please contact Kristen Stone (email@example.com) or Amy Korber (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to donate any items. Thank you!
