This spring/summer when we were all on quarantine due to COVID-19, I created a video series on Hoarding Disorder. I wanted to use the time at home productively to add value to my clients and followers. For this reason, I created 10 videos of commonly asked questions I get from family members regarding their loved ones struggling with hoarding behaviors. The types of questions I answer include: Why does my loved one hoard? Why is my loved one clutter-blind? and Is medication helpful in treating hoarding disorder?
I had initially posted the videos on Facebook but decided to have them easily accessible on my website. Each video lasts anywhere from 3-8 minutes and I answer questions, provide education on hoarding disorder, and offer up helpful resources. Find them on the Hoarding Videos tab on my website. I'd love for you to share with those who could benefit and feel free to leave me a comment in the section below each video for feedback.
I also wanted to make mention of some new-to-me books I've come across recently on hoarding disorder that might be of interest to folks. You'll notice a mix of fiction and non-fiction and different perspectives from social workers to firefighters to researchers.
