As my specialization is working with people who struggle with hoarding disorder and chronic disorganization, I decided to devote a monthly post to all things hoarding-related. Here are 5 things I'd like you to know this month.
1. Learn about the 4 types of digital hoarding in this article: What kind of digital hoarder are you?
2.
Did you know there's a supportive and non-judgmental FB group for people who struggle with too much stuff? Check out the Hoarding/Cluttering Support Group.
3.
A new book on hoarding is coming out later this month: Overcoming Hoarding: A Self-Help Guide Using Cognitive Behavioural Techniques by Satwant Singh, Margaret Hooper, and Colin Jones.
4.
One of my association's (NAPO-CT) business partners is ServiceMaster Albino out of Waterbury and they gave an informative presentation at our recent chapter meeting on their services including Hoarder and Estate Clean-ups.
5.
With spring on the horizon, I thought this blank-lined composition book would make a cheeky gift!
To piggy-back off of #2, I wanted to share this blog post from the archives: 6 Facebook Groups to Support Individuals with Hoarding Disorder. You can always check out the Mental Health / Hoarding section of my blog for informative and educational articles on this disorder.
Please share this Hoarding Hi-5 with someone you think could benefit.
Thank you!
